Liposomal technology

Altrient, developed in 2004 by liposomal specialists at LivOn Labs, uses a patented process to enhance nutrient bioavailability for better, faster results.

Standard vitamin supplements don't often provide the results they can claim to. The issue lies not in the nutrient itself, but its bioavailability — how the body is able to absorb and utilise it.

Altrient uses a patented encapsulation process to help protect nutrients from digestion and facilitate cellular uptake.

It's all about bioavailability

What are liposomes?

  • Nutrient encapsulation
Liposomes are tiny spheres that wrap nutrients inside a protective layer of healthy fats, keeping them safe from oxidation and stomach acids.

  • Targeted cellular delivery
Their outer layer closely matches human cell membranes, allowing liposomes to blend with cells and release nutrients directly where they’re needed most.

  • Enhanced bioavailability
This advanced delivery method helps the body absorb and use nutrients far more efficiently than standard supplements.

  • Proven innovation
Liposomal delivery represents one of the most effective ways to get nutrients working at a cellular level.

+ Protection

Nutrients protected within liposomal structures are protected from digestive enzymes.

Nutrients, especially from supplements, will often get broken down during digestion and even in the bloodstream meaning little ends up in the cells.

Liposomes act like shields, defending the nutrients from external factors until they're ready to be used by the cells.

- Wastage

Water-soluable vitamins and minerals, in particular vitamin C and B-vitamins, have a particularly bad reputation for simply being excreted by the body instead of utilised by the cells.

Altrient's liposomal structures allow nutrients to be delivered directly to the cells. Absorption thresholds are overcome, and more nutrients can be used by the body with less wastage.

+ Benefits

When the body is able to absorb and utilise more nutrients, you see and feel the effects faster — no need to wonder whether your routine is making a difference.

Numerous studies show the advantages of liposomal supplements (particularly vitamin C) over standard forms for improving everything from immune cell function to collagen production and even improving symptoms of tiredness and fatigue.

How is Altrient different to other liposomal formulas?

Altrient may have been the first liposomal food supplement available on the market in 2004, but today, there are many brands claiming to offer the benefits of liposomal encapsulation.

Instead of focussing on flavour, Altrient prioritises the stability of its liposomal encapsulations and the purity of its formulas. Instead of artificial sweeteners, and being bulked out with humectants like glycerin, most Altrient products contain just a handful of ingredients, namely water, phospholipids, the encapsulated nutrient, an acidity regulator and a tiny amount of grain ethanol (less than 1ml) to effectively preserve the product.

Myth: all liposomal products offer the same level of bioavailability.

"Liposomal" is not a protected term. Any brand can claim to be liposomal without offering any form of nutrient encapsulation.

Many products will contain partially-encapsulated nutrients or micelles, which are still slightly better than most standard vitamin powders, but not as effective as liposomes.

Some supplement manufacturers are now offering "powder liposomes" — true liposomal formulations are fatty, and liquid.

Without prioritising stability, most liposomal formulas will start to break down or oxidise.

LivOn Labs' patented process ensures hyper-stable nano liposomes.

Quality ingredients

Every Altrient formulation begins with carefully selected, premium-grade ingredients. Each nutrient is chosen for purity, stability, and clinical efficacy before being suspended within a high-quality phospholipid base. This ensures the finished liposomes deliver maximum potency and performance with every dose.

High phospholipid ratio

Our patented process uses an exceptionally high ratio of phospholipids — the natural fats that form liposome membranes. This abundance of phospholipids strengthens the liposomal structure, protecting nutrients from oxidation and digestive breakdown while supporting efficient absorption into the bloodstream and cells.

Nano-sized particles

Altrient’s advanced manufacturing technology produces consistently nano-sized liposomes, optimised for stability and cellular uptake. Their microscopic size allows for smooth passage through the intestinal wall and direct fusion with cell membranes, delivering nutrients exactly where they are needed most.

Single sachet storage

Each serving is sealed in an individual, oxygen-barrier sachet to preserve the integrity of every liposome. This single-dose packaging prevents exposure to light, air and moisture, ensuring consistent stability from the first sachet to the last as well as guaranteed liposomal activity from production to consumption.
